Break Time

These days, between trying to be a good father and a good employee, I never know when I’ll fish again.  A lot of the time it appears that I may never again…responsibilities stretch on endlessly.  Every once in a while, though, a bright light shines in my week and opens up a day here and there.  Today was a bright-light day.  It was also one of the windiest days I’ve fished this year; I regretted my choice on the 3wt Lamiglass (that I argue is a 2wt) and wished instead I had actually brought the 6wt I laid out for myself last night.  Oh well, fish were caught either way.

This was the largest rainbow (and only photo’ed) I caught and didn’t dig the camera out for anything else.

Check out that hookup! It actually popped out at my feet and rehooked on the outside of the nose–close call!!

Glad you were able to sneak an outing in. Nice pictures too. I haven’t been able to buy a fish with streamers and it’s starting to feel like a curse.

Gorgeous trout, Will! I completely understand the thought of never being able to go fishing again can creep in your head. I have it all the time. I always look to some friends who have children older than mine and see that they still get to fish, so it gives me hope.

I have to figure out why your blog isn’t updating on my blogroll ever….
